Back on home soil

I was lucky to hear on my return ofthe presence of Short Eared Owls and Hen Harriers on my local patch and have visited them several times. Unfortunately most shots have been distant and the light has varied from sunny to downright dull. However it is a privilege just to see these fabulous birds hunting in daylight.
Short Eared Owls

Hen Harriers

Not forgetting the smaller birds of course
A charm of Goldfinches - just a few of the many present

Stonechat and Reed Bunting - not talking?

Other birds seen but not photographed were Marsh Harrier, Merlin, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel and Little Owl. There were also 2 stoats and a weasel. Not a bad day!
